NCOVID-19 cases increase in Germany, WHO expresses concern

The World Health Organization has expressed grave concern over the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Europe, as Germany logged its highest daily count since the pandemic began.

WHO Europe director Hans Kluge said, "We are, once again, at the epicenter." He also cautioned that as per a reliable projection, the current trajectory indicates that there will be another half a million COVID deaths by the month of February.

In Germany, the number of new infections over the previous 24 hours increased to around 34,000 on Thursday, which represents an all-time high, as per the Robert Koch Institute health agency. The WHO Europe region, which includes 53 countries and territories, has registered 78 million cases since the onset of the pandemic… (WION – AFP, November 4, 2021)
